At Wellahealth, we aim to provide health insurance that promotes reliable health plans for individuals and their families at low costs. To provide sustainable and reliable health with affordable and accessible drugs after consultation, we have provided a solution called Wefill
Wefill Africa is a pharmaceutical solution that offers an easy means to procure medications for people who use insurance, telemedicine, and face-to-face consultations. Wellafill promises easy procurement of medications from over 2,000 pharmacies in Nigeria. It also offers seamless payment and pick-up either by person or doorstep delivery.
How does Wefill work?
For a subscriber (Acute health conditions):
- A subscriber (the person who uses the health insurance under Wellahealth) chats with a doctor on the telemedicine application,
- The doctor counsels and prescribes medications for the patient,
- The subscriber/user’s location is collected via an Application Programming Interface by Wellahealth,
- The user is shown the available pharmacies close to them,
- The user makes a pharmacy choice, pays on the platform, and confirms for pickup or delivery
- Pickup or delivery is done, and the customer is satisfied.
For a Pay-As-You-Go user:
- Pay-as-you-go users are people who do not use insurance and want to pay for healthcare including medications from pocket.
- The user interacts with a doctor on the telemedicine app, counseling is done, and medications are prescribed by the attending
- The cost of medication (and delivery) is displayed for payment authorization by the user
- User pays via wallet on the app or their card
- User picks mode of delivery- pickup at a designated pharmacy or door-step delivery
- Pickup or delivery
For a user with chronic medical conditions:
- For chronic medical conditions requiring life-long therapy like hypertension and diabetes mellitus,
- Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) can either upload the medication needed on a drug register or input patient prescriptions manually on the request portal
- The user chooses the pharmacy under Wefill close to them for either pickup or doorstep delivery.
- Wefill blog articles about chronic disease management also help in health promotion.
- Additionally, for people living with chronic medical conditions requiring drugs, the system is built to send automated emails to benefit managers for one-click approvals when enrollee’s (user’s) prescriptions are due for refills.
